Julia Mann

The story of Julia Mann, mother of the famous German writer Thomas Mann, is revealed in this documentary. Born in Brazil, in the crossing between Angra dos Reis and Paraty, Julia Mann was taken to Germany when she was seven years old. There, she spent most part of her life trying to become used to habits which were rather different from the ones in her childhood. The documentary tries to reveal how Julia Mann influenced the outstanding artistic work of her sons Thomas and Heinrich as well as her tragic life in search of her past, lost in her own memories.
