A lifelong Brazilian adventurer, Marcos never doubted that connecting with nature is the answer to a sustainable relationship between humans and planet Earth. Ten years after kayaking down Chile's largest river, the Baker River, which runs alongside the Northern Patagonian Ice Field, the northern part of the second largest continuous ice mass outside the polar regions, Marcos decides to return to the Baker. He feels this return is urgent: the Ice Field is melting at some of the highest rates on the globe. He then invites his two best friends, Fábio, a long-time explorer, and Fuchs, an experienced waterman, to paddle back along the famous river. During the journey, the trio encounters places that daily experience the ecosystem transformations caused by climate change. These are people who, through their routines, professions, and leisure activities, cultivate diverse connections with the natural system of that territory, giving us an overview of the experience of a life closer to nature and offering clues as to how this can contribute to a more sustainable future. The river's path soon becomes a journey inward, where Marcos's intimate reflections become a warning to tune in to our true nature. Inspiring and hopeful, the film offers a unique experience, set against the backdrop of the dramatic Patagonian landscape, prompting viewers to consider that the bleak future heralded by the climate crisis is already here. But can our (re)connection with nature change this scenario?
