For over 20 years, Grifa Filmes has been creating high quality productions for television, having been nominated for two International Emmy Awards. The company is one of the most important and award winning content producers in Brazil, with great experience in national and international projects.
Director and Executive Producer, Mauricio has produced and directed more than 60 films. His adventure "In the Trail of Langsdorff Expedition" was distributed by Discovery International and France 3 to more than 100 countries. Part of his filmography include the documentary "Whales in Abrolhos" for Animal Planet, the wildlife series "Animals of Brazil” for National Geographic and the documentary" Brazil from Prehistory", this last one being shown in more than 50 countries. Among his last works as Director are the international series “Extinctions – the Jaguar”, a Brazil / France / Singapore and Canada co-production which has reached a large audience at France 5 television and the 2010 Christmas’s special "Born To Sing" for TV Record, which put the channel in the 2nd place in the Brazilian audience.
Co-founder of Grifa Films together with Mauricio Dias, Fernando has always acted as Executive Producer of Completed Projects. Fernando was president of the Brazilian Association for Independent Television Producers for 8 years (ABPITV – Associação Brasileira de Produtores Independentes de Televisão), where he was responsible for the creation of ABPITV’s international sector and for the development of the association’s international project. Fernando has participated as guest speaker at renowned fairs and international film festivals such as MIPCOM, MIPTV, Real Screen, Sunny Side of the Doc, Toronto Film Festival amongst others.
